Los Angeles, CA: A 37-year-old woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death during an argument at their Harbor Gateway apartment, police said Friday. Starr Lakesha Lavan drove her wounded boyfriend, Markeith Johnbaptiste, 26, to Memorial Hospital of Gardena, where he died, Los Angeles police Detective Rick Gordon said.

Bourbon County, KY: A mother and her 5-year-old daughter whose bodies were found after a house fire last week in rural southeastern Kansas died from gunshot wounds, victims of a double murder-suicide, authorities said Monday. The woman’s husband was found in a vehicle outside the home, dead of a self-inflicted injury. The Bourbon County Sheriff’s office said in a news release that autopsies determined 30-year-old Terry Lynn Prestley and her daughter died from gunshot wounds. Corona, CA: A woman feared kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend following the murder of her mother has been located. Crystal Gene Lopez, 28, was found safe Thursday morning when she walked into the Corona Police Department, officials said. According to authorities, Lopez had been unreachable following the murder of her mother, 55-year-old Katherine Aguirre, on Wednesday. Lilley Township, MI: It was a 911 call from Marcia Faye Hoover, Charles Hoover's wife, that drew police around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday to the couple's Lilley Township residence, police told MLive today. Hoover told dispatchers her husband had shot the couple's adult son, also named Charles Hoover. That was the last time Marcia Hoover would talk to the police. The medical examiner's office confirmed the fears of family members that Sharita Williams, a 35-year-old medical assistant in one of the offices, was killed by 55-year-old Myron Williams, who was fired from his job as the building's maintenance worker last week. Paoli, OK: A standoff that lasted more than four hours between authorities and a suspected killer came to a deadly end inside a Paoli house Monday afternoon, according to the Garvin County Sheriff. Shortly after 4 p.m., an Oklahoma Highway Patrol tactical team found 58-year-old Antonio Elias Reynoso dead inside his girlfriend’s home in the 100 block of West St. Sheriff Larry Rhodes said Reynoso died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Rhodes said Reynoso barricaded himself inside a bedroom shortly after allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend’s son.
