Police say the man shot and killed his girlfriend, tried to shoot an officer, then shot and killed himself.  It was an emotional scene Wednesday morning. Philadelphia, PA:  Tiffany Gillespie's boyfriend wasn't happy that she was pregnant with his baby, so early Thursday he shot the 24-year-old mother of two in the head, leaving her dead in the basement of her South Philadelphia home, police said.  Gillespie's mother found her with a single gunshot wound at 2:40 a.m. and called police to the house, on Mildred Street near Ritner. Hollywood, CA:  From his apartment next door to the house on Harvard Boulevard in East Hollywood, Andy Ulloa watched as a man first argued with the residents, then began shooting, and finally quickly doused the house with an orange container of gasoline.  “It looked like he didn't care no more,” said Ulloa, 21. “He was really mad.”  The flames quickly consumed the house Thursday afternoon. Joilet, IL:  A man stayed in a Joliet motel room with his dead girlfriend’s corpse for nearly two days and used her debit card to buy vodka before calling authorities, police said Saturday.  Derek Tanke, 47, of Joliet, has been arrested on felony charges of concealment of a death, unlawful use of a credit card and ID theft, said Joliet Chief Michael Trafton.  Tanke and his girlfriend, Nancy A. Wilson County, NC:  This week’s murder of 42-year-old Charlene Jones Leake is a harsh reminder of how stalking and other forms of domestic violence can escalate and turn deadly.  Leake, who went by the name Charlene Jones, and John Henry Little, 61, were found dead in the front room of Little’s residence at 3233 Corbett Ave. Monday afternoon.  Jones’ family contends Verna Lee Farmer, 45, has been stalking Jones since October 2011 after the two went out together. Lake Havasu City, AZ:  A Lake Havasu City, Ariz., resident has been booked on a second-degree murder charge in the death of his wife.  Micaiah Gray, 32, called 911 at 1:05 p.m. Monday requesting medical aid for his wife, according to Lake Havasu City Police Sgt. Two Killed in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Leavenworth County, KS:  Authorities believe an estranged relationship may have been a factor that led to Wednesday night’s murder-suicide west of Lansing, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.  The incident was reported about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence at 25016 164th St.  The suspect, who’s been identified as Kenneth McClellan, 32, Leavenworth, reportedly forced his way into the residence with a 9 mm handgun and shot, John J. O’Brien Jr., 66. O’Brien died at the scene, according to Maj. Ron Cranor, Leavenworth County undersheriff.  » more at Leavenworth Times
