Lake Worth, FL: A 36-year-old man was arrested this morning after detectives say he shot and killed his pregnant wife as she ran to her car for safety, and then turned the gun on himself but failed to take his own life. Whitehall, PA: A 75-year-old Whitehall man was held without bail in the Allegheny County Jail today after being charged with killing his 71-year-old wife. Joseph R. Manning of Brant Drive was taken into custody Saturday evening after police found his wife, Mary Carol Manning, dead in the living room of the couple's home on Brant Drive. Mrs. Manning appeared to have suffered massive head trauma and investigators found a blood-stained pipe wrench near her feet, according to a police criminal complaint. » more at Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
